Loss Is Hard

Hey y'all!

So, this post will actually be a little solemn today. I wasn't too sure when I started all this how personal I was going to get but this is actually pretty personal. Obviously, y'all don't know me that well (unless you do… which if so, thanks for reading!) but two days ago, my great-grandmother passed away. Yes, I was blessed to have had my great-grandmother live for an extremely long time before losing her.

I am honestly just thankful that my last conversation with her was a good one. It was all in Spanish, so I got most of it but not all. I also talked back to her in Spanish and we were joined by her sister. I heard a lot about my grandma and her brothers and sisters while growing up. It's something I'll definitely cherish for quite some time as it was my last moment with my great-grandmother and it was at a time when she was still able to respond and remember stuff.

With this event, I now have a funeral to attend to this Wednesday and the rosary will be Tuesday. I had heard that my great-grandmother had taken a turn for the worse the day before she passed. That day I knew I was going to need a new dress. I thought I had shoes, but I don't so I need new shoes as well. I went shopping today but I was unsuccessful on both but I did find two new shirts (very festival-like) and I got a couple of things at Francesca's that I had been wanting so success there.

Since it is Saturday, as upsetting as this is, this is what I would wear if I could just grab things and have them magically appear in my closet.

Loss Is Hard

Of course, the tights and long-sleeves are only because it's winter time. If it was summer, that'd be a whole different wardrobe choice altogether. I think that I have been lucky in that this is only the third funeral I have been to for a family member in my 20 years of living. I know that I am blessed that I haven't lost anybody extremely close to me yet so every time this happens, it does hit me kind of hard.

Alrighty, well that's everything for this Style Saturday. Fashionista on, lovelies. Hopefully, you're doing better than my family and I at this time.

Style Saturday

Hey y'all!

And thus begins StyleSaturday #2!!! This Saturday I'll be waking up super early to go with family to see The FINAL Hobbit, which I'm so psyched for, as well as eating at the Hobbit Cafe and then heading off to work. So a busy, busy day that I will probably need lots of coffee for :/

Anyways, seeing as I'm probably going to be doing a lot, I created a few Polyvores that you may view below. I probably will not follow any of them. No kidding. I really don't have my dream closet and so I'm making these Polyvores as both style inspiration pieces and as ideas to spring for when I'm shopping for me (after I've gotten healthy, though. That's what I'm really waiting on)

Here is the final product!
I Am Death

River island top
$19 - riverisland.com

Helmut Lang elastic waist pants
bernardboutique.com

Roberto Cavalli black booties
couture.zappos.com

Garnet earrings
diamondwave.com

Dragon Rider headpiece, Black scale with Pink and gold highlights,...
etsy.com

So this is what my dream cosplay would be. I absolutely love these pieces (especially the shoes. The. Shoes) and I would walk around practically anywhere wearing all this. Hopefully, y'all enjoy and it inspires you to dress up as one of my favorite characters, Smaug.

Happy Hobbit Weekend!

Laterz,
Trina

Style Saturday

Hey y'all!

So I know I don't normally post on a Saturday, but I've decided to add two new categories to my blog to where I'll be cranking out a blogpost everyday!! ...hopefully, haha.

Anyways, welcome to the very first #StyleSaturday!! Saturdays will be filled with plenty of style options, as I'll be using my Polyvore, and simply if I feel like making an event or an outfit up. So far, I have stuff to do every Saturday onwards, so I can do outfits based on events that I have going. As always, requests are definitely appreciated!! Y'all keep my muse going like nobody's business =)

So today, I'm meeting a friend from my online government class to work on our schoolwork to finally be DONE with this stinkin' class. (Wherever you're from, oh my gosh, American Government is so boring. What happens with the people in it, no. The actual processes? Good grief) I want to look good, as this will be the first time we're meeting in person, but it's for schoolwork. And early on a Saturday.

Which means very basic makeup for me anyways. As Jeremy Renner stated in an interview, "Lashes, brows, lips." And on second thought, I won't be wearing any makeup because I am going to get threaded once I'm done with everything. Argh. So normally, I would have mascara, my brows done and colored lip balm or just plain chapstick with SPF.

I actually don't wear makeup outside of work too often which is hilarious because I love trying new looks from YouTube Beauty Gurus but oh well. Needs must.

Now on to the actual point of the post, this is what I created on Polyvoreeeee!!
Warm & Cozy

Black and white top
ustrendy.com

Miss Selfridge shirts top
$31 - houseoffraser.co.uk

UGG Australia twisted boots
stylebop.com

I'm honestly not too sure why I went with black & grey as my focal points, but I like how it turned out. It's not too much but it's still classy and fashion-y enough to where I'm not seen as a total loser. I think what I'm actually going to wear will be patterned leggings and a big t-shirt. I have plenty of those so I figure it'll look good enough with my brown cuffed boots.

What do y'all think? Comments appreciated on both websites =)
