Style Saturday

Hey y'all!

So I know I don't normally post on a Saturday, but I've decided to add two new categories to my blog to where I'll be cranking out a blogpost everyday!! ...hopefully, haha.

Anyways, welcome to the very first #StyleSaturday!! Saturdays will be filled with plenty of style options, as I'll be using my Polyvore, and simply if I feel like making an event or an outfit up. So far, I have stuff to do every Saturday onwards, so I can do outfits based on events that I have going. As always, requests are definitely appreciated!! Y'all keep my muse going like nobody's business =)

So today, I'm meeting a friend from my online government class to work on our schoolwork to finally be DONE with this stinkin' class. (Wherever you're from, oh my gosh, American Government is so boring. What happens with the people in it, no. The actual processes? Good grief) I want to look good, as this will be the first time we're meeting in person, but it's for schoolwork. And early on a Saturday.

Which means very basic makeup for me anyways. As Jeremy Renner stated in an interview, "Lashes, brows, lips." And on second thought, I won't be wearing any makeup because I am going to get threaded once I'm done with everything. Argh. So normally, I would have mascara, my brows done and colored lip balm or just plain chapstick with SPF.

I actually don't wear makeup outside of work too often which is hilarious because I love trying new looks from YouTube Beauty Gurus but oh well. Needs must.

Now on to the actual point of the post, this is what I created on Polyvoreeeee!!

I'm honestly not too sure why I went with black & grey as my focal points, but I like how it turned out. It's not too much but it's still classy and fashion-y enough to where I'm not seen as a total loser. I think what I'm actually going to wear will be patterned leggings and a big t-shirt. I have plenty of those so I figure it'll look good enough with my brown cuffed boots.

What do y'all think? Comments appreciated on both websites =)

Tunes Tuesday

Hey y'all!

I'm so glad I'm back. Honestly, I've been so stressed and go-go-go 24/7 that this is something really relaxing that I love to do. Anyways, here is this week's favorite song!

The Heart Wants What It Wants by Selena Gomez

I have to admit, watching the AMA awards on Sunday, I really only watched Selena's performance as I had just gotten home from the Texas Renaissance Festival and it juuust do happened that she started her performance when I got in the door. Literally.

So I watched her performance and was blown away. Oh my goodness, there was so much in that performance I wanted to bawl just like Taylor Swift did, apparently. (Just kidding, there was just pics of T. Swift getting emotional. Love you, T!!)

I then proceeded to go upstairs to my room, listen to the song on repeat and watch the music video. I tweeted how I felt horrid and that my heart pretty much was ripped out of my chest and so that's why this week is dedicated to her.

I'm not current on her love life (and honestly, I don't hope to be unless I am a personal, good friend of hers. I think it's kinda creepy about that stuff but I completely understand cooing over relationships and whatnot) and so I'm not sure if the song is about Justin Bieber or not, but whoever it is about, I am HERE for her. She should not have to go through this alone. At all.

As it is, I can't get over this song. Personally, I see it as even though the relationship is destructive that the person singing (whoever, really) is still in it because of their heart. I know, I'm a weirdo. But, this view has actually inspired me creatively (a huge amount) and so I should have some stuff written out and drawn (maybe) soon.

Hope y'all enjoy the song just as much as I have!

Movie Monday

Hey y'all!

Okay, so first off, I apologize profusely about being MIA for over a month... Unexcusable and it was honestly my pure laziness. I am back for sure and hopefully will never miss another day, ever!

This week is all about The Hunger Games.

Mockingjay: Part One premiered on the 21st and I didn't go see it.

I'm crazy, I know. I had a chance and I didn't take it. Then I had work on Saturday and on Sunday, I went to the Texas Renaissance Festival (which if you've never been, you're missing out my friend. You are miss. Ing. Out. Because it is fabulous) with one of my best friends and his family. I had an amazing time and got some great souvenirs.

Back to today's subject!

So, to be honest, I have not seen this movie, but I just wanted to record my doubts, thought, theories and whatnot.

I'll be blunt, the romantic aspect of the entirety of this series never appealed to me. The actual Hunger Games was my absolute favorite part of both The Hunger Games and Catching Fire. Maybe I just crave chaos and insanity or something but I loved those parts of the book. Personally, I think I'm just an action-kinda girl and I am okay with this.

SPOILER ALERT! THERE WILL BE SPOILERS AHEAD.

Okay, so having said that, so far, my favorite movie is The Hunger Games. There was soooo much about the actual Games that I was like, "Yeeeeesssssss." I was looking forward to a lot in Catching Fire and then got maaaaybeeee 30 minutes of footage. I was horrifically disappointed. I thought they spent a lot of time on the tour and what happened in the Capitol. I also cannot watch this movie all the way through again because *sigh* of Cinna.

He was my absolute favorite character.

Y'all, I loved him. Truly. I thought he was a great ally for Katniss so I flippin' bawled when I read about his death in Catching Fire. Watching it in the movies was noooo different. I sobbed. Even thinking about it is bringing tears to my eyes and I'm ridiculously exhausted at this moment. (Which explains this horrible state of the post but I just typed this out in possibly 10-15 minutes to have something to post. I apologize most profusely for its state)

I'm glad that his death affected Katniss heavily, though. That made me feel better.

Which brings me to another death.

I wonder when Prim will die.

That was such an important part of the book and, really, it defined how the book was going to end and who Katniss really could choose to be with.

I thought Gale could have been the one but after the whole bomb thing, I was like, "Oh, jkssss..."

So seeing her end up with Peeta was kinda a foregone conclusion.

Poor Peeta though. Before the Revolution was over, I mean.

The whole brainwashing thing? I thought that was the worst. I always kinda wondered if he was able to see himself tell the lies and he just kinda had to watch without being able to do anything about it.

SPOILERS END HERE

You always knew that he was a guy who truly cared for Katniss, for nothing other than Katniss' strength was something he deeply admired as well as her fierce love for her family and desire to provide for them.

That was something I always thought was suuuper sweet of him.

Lastly, here's a bombshell to completely rock y'all's worlds. :)

I dislike the character Katniss.

What's that? You didn't quite catch that? Here, let me make it easier for you to see.

I dislike the character Katniss. I dislike the character Katniss. I dislike the character Katniss.

I think she's incredibly stubborn, selfish, way too reckless in that she really doesn't think through things- I just-argh.

Just argh.

There are other reasons, but I can't list them. That'd take forever and I can't think of them at the moment because again, tired.

Do I have something against Jennifer Lawrence and her flawless acting skills, you may wonder? My goodness, no, what's wrong with you? JenLaw freakin' slays.

I just legitimately dislike a character in a novel for reasons that are my own and I'm pretty set in this viewpoint. Please try not to change it.

Okay, love y'all and see ya tomorrow for Tunes Tuesday, PROMISE!!

Tunes Tuesday

Hey y'all!

Argh, I just have to work out a schedule for this thing cause otherwise, I'll never get the hang of this thing. Anyways! I'll post the Shazam tags for September either later today or as my entry for next week's Tunes Tuesday. We'll see!

Today, I would like to highlight a song I think is particularly Halloween-inspired as it is the month of Octoberrrrr. Now y'all may judge me for this but even though I am 20 years old, I absolutely love going to the movies to see the latest G-rated movie. I even get excited to go see them. Crazy, I know.

As such, the featured song for today was part of the movie Hotel Transylvania that came out in 2012 with Selena Gomez, Adam Sandler and some other celebs. I thought the whole concept was adorable! I hope they'll feature it in 13 Nights of Halloween on ABCFamily but who knows.

The song is "Problem (The Monster Remix)" by Becky G feat. Will.i.am

I love this song and when I heard it last night for the first time in a while (via my This is Halloween Spotify playlist), I automatically knew that I wanted it as my tuesday tune special. I'm always in the Halloween spirit in October but this song was one of my favorites from my playlist.

It is featured in the credits of Hotel Transylvania. I actually like Becky G & Will.i.am as separate artists so to hear them together was pretty neat. The music video was interesting too cause it shows both of them performing, as always, and also clips from the movie.

Alrighty, hopefully I'll keep up with this better!

Selfie/A to Z (10/2)

Hey y'all!

Okay, so it's still the beginning of T.V.'s fall schedule getting started but it's October!! Isn't that crazy?!? Ah, I'm so excited! October, besides April of course, is my absolute favorite month!!! It's in the middle of fall, has my favorite holiday and is just generally a good month for me. As if I haven't mentioned this before...

So here are this week's episodes!!

"Pilot": This show is about Eliza Dooley, a young woman who became "instafamous" after growing up as what she perceived to be ugly. Now, she has many followers and social media friends and she looks nothing like what she used to. She is a pharmaceutical sales rep and was involved with someone who is married. On an airplane where she was with a  bunch of her co-workers, her bags ended up bursting and she got sick all over her. The incident went viral and so she lost her "coolness" reputation. When she found out that a co-worker, Henry, was able to re-sell a product that had questionable effects, she enlists him in help for becoming a better person. They start lessons and Eliza finds out good things. She didn't get any help from her "friends" on the night and she realizes even though her neighbor Bryn is her complete opposite, that Bryn has a great group of real friends even though Eliza thinks the book club is kinda annoying. She impresses Henry even though he doesn't voice it at a co-worker's daughter's wedding with her appearance. Henry continues to teach her but things escalate and they fight. When Eliza has a meaningful conversation with the company's receptionist and her son, she knows that Henry's help was actually working and goes to his house to reconcile. They end up in the rain and laugh together, cementing the beginning of a great friendship.

This pilot was great! I loved the music and I'm super excited to see the rest of the season. Karen is such a wonderful actress that she always stuns me and John Cho always gives a great performance. This show looks like it's going to be great. It's suppose to be a modern-day version of My Fair Lady, which if so, it has a lot to stand up to!! I freakin' love that movie. It's definitely one of my classic favorites.

"A is for Acquaintances": I was extremely interested in this show, considering that the mom from one of my favorites, How I Met Your Mother, was going to be the female lead! It also seemed as if it had a good plot. I did watch the pilot episode before it actually aired so I could see whether or not I wanted to commit. And oh, I wanna commit. These characters seem like they're going to make me laugh and I'm kinda already attached a little. You guys know how into my T.V. shows I can get. I'm excited to see where this goes and what happens after the 8 months, 3 weeks, 5 days and 1 hour is over. That's how long their, Andrew and Zelda's, relationship supposedly lasts but they don't say what happens at the end of it. I kinda hope they get married, but I also kinda hope they break up... Ah, who am I kidding, I can't decide what I want!! So in this episode, we see both Andrew and Zelda explained as to what kind of people they are, what they do and how they are romantically. They have met before and have actually been in the same vicinity as the other before the "fateful" meeting in Andrew's workplace because Zelda was a client of the online dating service he works for. They have a sort of awkward encounter and then Andrew thinks she's gone. Zelda reaches out and surprises Andrew but he's ecstatic that she is talking to him. They reach out on social media and after a while, he asks her out for drinks. He comes up with the conclusion that they are destined to be and Zelda just isn't of that mindset. She leaves when he's determined that she was at this concert and wearing a silver dress and she denies the fact. He's crushed. The morning after Stu says that he had a great night and when hearing of his friend's woes, leads him to become focused on proving that Zelda was there the night of the concert. Andrew asks some of his co-workers, who are talented computer programmers, to try and find pictures of Zelda. Later, Andrew's best friend, Stu, seems to have lied to Zelda's best friend, Stephie, and those two clash upon meeting again. Zelda finds out about the photos that were found while looking and chooses not to talk to Andrew again. When talking to a distraught Stephie about the two guys, Zelda realizes that no one has ever gone as far for her as Andrew has. In her closet, we see her rummage around and pull out a silver dress. She reaches out to him once again, explains that she was there the first night and the second, and the episode ends with them sharing their first kiss.

So that's it! I know, there are probably a ton more episodes I should be talking about but I just kinda wanna do a few because T.V. Thursday is probably going to be cut short for a while. I've started school again and I just never have enough time for anything. Which is depressing cause I'm behind on maybe 20 shows already and it's the second week of fall T.V...... I'm so upset. Oh well. Hope your Thursday is great! Remember, tomorrow's Friday!!

Workout Wednesday

Hey y'all!

Ahhhhhh, oh my gosh, it's the FIRST DAY OF OCTOBER. WOOOT!!! Y'all, you have no idea. I'm so pumped. I love and adore October. It means fall is really here, I can enjoy the cool weather and Halloween so all of my absolute favorite movies like A Nightmare Before Christmas and everything else is on cable. Also, the Pretty Little Liars Halloween special is here! That's important.

On to today, it's the first day of #Rocktober!! Which is hilarious, because I'm pretty sure I was going to tell Cassey that's what she should call the October month! Great minds think alike, huh?

Here are today's videos:
5 Minute Fat Burner
Quick Ab Workout
Extreme Abs Workout
5 Minute Ab Express
Train Like A Beast WO

There is one more video on the list because she is doing a contest but I decided to not include it because it's just talking about the prizes and what-to-dos for the contest. Which y'all should definitely enter!! Take a pic of you (or multiple people) in any type of plank position and hastag it #popsters in plank. The contest lasts from October 1 - October 8. I may or may not enter... Most likely will not. It's no big deal though. I'll see if I want to enter the next one. She's got great prizes lined up so y'all should definitely join.

Today's workout was kinda hard because my abs are still sore from Monday's workout so focusing on core was not fun. I think I'll like this calendars Wednesdays better though cause it's core time. I have an okay core and just need to make it even stronger. I'm just still psyched that it's already October. I freakin' love this month, in case you didn't know already. Y'all have fun today!

Tunes Tuesday

Hey y'all!

Omgosh, I am sooo sorry for being MIA for like... Ever! That's horrible. Thankfully, October is almost here!!! Isn't that exciting?! I love October. A lot. It has Halloween and my best friend's birthday is this month. My half-birthday is this month. Ugh, October is just so awesome.

Anyways, I wanted to highlight a single I've been listening to via Google Music for a while now. As in, for the past few days, I've just listened to it on repeat. It's actually by a rapper which is odd, I know, as I've only showcased pop and alternative so far... I think. But, if you know nothing about me, I listen to everything. Except for country and even then, it's very few artists in that genre I listen to. It's kinda hilarious as I live in Texas and almost all of my friends listen to country. I have stayed strong but I'm sure I'll soon start listening to them as well.

The single is by IAMSU! and it's called Only That Real feat. 2 Chainz and Sage Gemini. Now, I got it for free which I highly recommend to Android users to use Google Music or anyone who can get access. Through Google Music, I've gotten Katy Perry's album Prism and Ariana Grande's album My Everything for free. Isn't that the best thing you've ever heard? It's the best for me. I love it. I use it a lot when I'm not using Spotify or when my Spotify app just freaks out for some reason or other.

I'm not sure how to describe the single as, well, it is explicit so definitely don't listen to it in front of polite company if you can. Or your parents, depending on how old you are. I like it because it seems particularly mellow and it doesn't change pitch too much. It's kind of like background music and it seems pretty chill. I suppose that's really what got me hooked is that I can listen to it and it's not too loud or anything.

Alrighty guys, I'm back for reals this time. See y'all tomorrow!!

Laterz,
Trina
