Workout Wednesday: Day 3 (Beginner's Calendar)

Hey y'all!

Phew, I am pooped from the workout today. Okay, not true. But. I am feeling kinda sore and I figure Cassey is telling the truth when she says Sore Today, Strong Tomorrow so I'll get over it. Today on the Beginner's Calendar:

Wake up and do 10 roll-ups
 Fat Burning Cardio Warmup
Total Body Pilates with Ana Caban

And they are complete! I've done the Fat Burning Cardio Warmup before, but I never did the total body vid so that was neat to try out. I also was going to shower tonight but I'll shower after working out tomorrow morning so I'm fresh for work. I'm sure my co-workers and customers will appreciate that.

I was off work today so I pretty much lounged around and watched T.V. and then worked out at night... That was today in a nutshell.

I will say that diet-wise, I think that that, besides lack of time for workout, is my main concern on never being able to fully be fit. I do live at my parent's right now (which is why I don't post any videos yet) and I really am restricted to the food they bring in. Yes, I could buy my own groceries but for a college kid who's just trying to move out and save money at the moment? I'm not about to spend my money in that way.

I am proud of today though; I really drank a lot of water and I haven't been drinking my water so score 1 for me today on the water-front!

No worries, Austin will take care of that for me. Today was a pretty short post but not too much happened today... Oh well.

Trina

T.V. Tuesday

Hey y'all!

Fourth day blogging and I've done really well. I'm very proud for keeping up with this thing. Now to get down to the good stuff.

T.V. Shows!!!

For any of those who don't really, really know me... Know that I am obsessed with T.V. If it is a T.V. show on easily accessible cable, chances are slim that I do not watch it. I know, sounds crazy. I literally watch so much T.V. though. I'm sure that's not healthy but I love watching T.V. I usually workout while watching an episode.

**Also, very quickly, I spoil things when I talk about shows. Cause I'm giving my opinions and whatnot so just... Heads up**

Bachelor in Paradise - Ohhhhh my goodness. I just finished Andi's season and really didn't need a Bachelor/Bachelorette fix until Chris (the farmer from Andi's season) become the next Bachelor, but this show... I could not pass it up. I feel it's a perfect way to end the summer.

"08/04/14" - If I wasn't thoroughly crushed enough on Marcus' behalf during Andi's recent Bachelorette season, he definitely blew me away with this first episode. I give him props for giving the rose to Lacy because he really thinks there is something there. But in doing that, I feel really bad for Robert cause I'm pretty sure that he felt something towards her too. So that's just drama waiting to boil up. Going along with that, I felt bad for Sara when Marcus chose Lacy because I was wondering if she was going to get a rose since everyone else really had been paired up. Thankfully, Ben stepped in and gave her a rose. Well, more like he didn't have a choice or at least he made it seem that way. Oh well, Sara's still here. Michelle... Oh, Michelle. I'm almost 100% that this girl is who everyone refers to as "Crazy Michelle" and with how she acted in the rose ceremony and pretty much throughout the show, I really question her motives for coming on the show in the first place. Clare was saved!! I actually like her. She seems adorable and I was upset on her behalf at the rose ceremony but she was given a rose! Thank goodness for Robert. It seems their ruins date wasn't for naught. With Elise and Dylan, they're pretty cute but I didn't really care too much for Dylan on Andi's season so... You go, guys. Romance it out.  Michelle and Marquel!! They are sooo adorable! I loved Marquel because he was just a genuinely nice guy on Andi's season and so I am really rooting for him on this show. I think he and Michelle are a pretty good match so I'm excited to see where that goes. But then Daniella had to go home!! I had barely seen her this show except for in the confessionals and I was kinda disappointed. She looked like she would have been fun. If all this happened on just the first episode... I'm super psyched for next Monday :) (Season 1, Episode 1)

Gravity Falls - Oh guys. Do you watch this show? If not, you totally should. While this is a Disney show, this show is the bomb.com and I have been waiting for this second season for months!! I was sooo psyched when it finally came on!!

"Scary-Oke": This was the perfect season premiere. It had all the classic Gravity Falls elements that I've learned to love and look out for such as: something supernatural/odd, Mabel (yes, that's all I need to say), something from the journal, and of course, an obstacle to be conquered. My favorite part on this episode had to be that Gruncle Stan, Dipper and Mabel had to sing to defeat the zombies. That was hilarious. I'm excited to see what the agents are going to do and when they'll be back if Gravity Fall, Oregon is the place they're looking for. I wonder if the author is/was ex-government? Ooh, now there's a thought... (Season 2 Episode 1)

"Into the Bunker": I'm not going to lie, I've been waiting for something like this to happen since season 1, episode 1. So to finally be in the bunker of where the author of the journals stayed... It was awe-inspiring. I thought it was so cool how they brought that to life and then how the author created the tree entrance! That blew my mind, it was so cool. The shifter was interesting as well. I totally held my breath when Dipper confessed to Wendy though! I love that the writers went through it cool as a cucumber though and it wasn't weird afterwards. Not having Wendy on the show would have been a real bummer so I'm glad she stays. (Season 2, Episode 2)

Hawaii Five-0 - I know, I know, this show isn't current, but I just love watching it and I have missed some episodes. So here are the eps I watched this week!

"Kaw Iwi Kapu (Sacred Bones)": This episode was really cool to watch because this was a Halloween episode complete with trick-or-treating, zombie and Max-dressed-as-Nero. I have to admit the latter was my favorite. Max is definitely my fav character on the show so I adore whenever he is shown. That doesn't mean I don't have love for McGarrett and Danno but Max... he's just too precious. Anyways, this case was super interesting in plenty of ways. First, it had supernatural tendencies and I am a total sucker for those. I love supernatural (that includes the show) and so this was a good ep for me. I also love intricate cases and this one definitely was. I was frustrated that the perp ended up killing himself by burning cause I would prefer they get justice but he reaped what he sowed for certain. It boggles the mind to see to what extent people will go just to... get money or something else that seems so dumb in the big scheme of things. The supernatural part was incredibly interesting especially at the end where Danno is pretty sure he was talking to a ghost and he goes "Pack it up!" when is entire team has brought in all of his stuff. The other supernatural part I have to criticize but not because it was bad. I just... Did you see the way those two kids were dressed? You'd think that they were taking a stroll in the city or a shops area or something. Not, oh, 'scuse me, I'm just gonna pop into this jungle then, shall I? For instance, who wears a crop top to the jungle?! If it were me and my significant other (not that I have one but. Semantics) wished to do something that crazy (Spoiler Alert: There is no way on all that is holy I would ever agree to something like this. I don't care if I'm labeled a scaredy-cat. I'm Slytherin enough to admit self-preservation needs), I would be in full-Winchester mode. I'm talking skinny jeans, boots, legitimate work boots, a tank/t-shirt under a plaid shirt plus a backpack with plenty of water, food, salt, holy water, machetes for vampires... Every single thing that may keep me alive would be in that freakin' backpack. No. Joke. That honestly was my only issue. Oh and the fact that they were disrespecting the dead. How rude, seriously. (Season 2, Episode 7)

"Lapa'au (Healing)": This episode was... odd, for lack of a better term. The premise was that an agent was killed before taking off in a plane. It was sad that she was killed trying to rescue animals who were going to be poached. Thankfully, Five-0 stepped in before they were sent out in the world. People are motivated by the worst things and the culprit this time was dying of pancreatic cancer and when he found out the doctor/poacher was lying to him about curing him, he went crazy and started killing everybody. Also, medicinal marijuana... I personally don't see how it helps but I'm not a doctor so, there's that. I soo loved the early McGarrett and Danno scene at the movie theaters. I was dying of laughter at those two. Their bromance makes me love the show even more. Anyways, everything got resolved and I thought that it was really sweet when the deceased agent's handler/boss/maybe-co-worker-I-dunno gave Five-0 the medal she was awarded post-humously. When Steve placed it in his office with his Navy medals... That just about broke my heart with the fluff. I wanted to vomit rainbows and kittens, seriously. (Season 2, Episode 8)

"A ia la aku": My sister refused to watch this and kept telling me I had seen it but after I finished it, I'm so glad I decided to watch it cause I didn't know a darn thing while watching the whole show. So in this one, a bride runs because she sees her brother in the crowd. The same brother who was a total jerk and forced her to run cons against rich guys just so they could scam them of their money. God forbid, she actually fall in love with someone rich and want to get away from her psycho brother. I felt really bad for Little Rich but in the end, they had the ceremony in the hospital while the bride was recovering from her injuries (she had been in a really bad car wreck) with McGarrett and Danno as witnesses. That definitely killed me with the absolute adorableness. Seriously, I spouted rainbows with that nonsense. I did not see the rich family's lawyer becoming the bad person though. That was a twist... that I loved! It was so cool to see Mama Rich just confront him and pretty much stare down the barrel of a gun just cause she had a wire and knew the police were right outside. Five-o, man... Freakin' Five-o (Season 4, Episode 4)

Before I leave y'all, I apologize on my ramblings and spoilers. But I write T.V. Tuesdays under the impression that everyone who is reading these blog posts watch the shows as well.

Laterz,
Trina

Movie Monday: Guardians of the Galaxy

Hey y'all!

As today is Monday, we're gonna focus on the latest blockbuster in theaters...

Guardians of the Galaxy

This movie, if you have not seen it already, means you need to get up and go watch it. Now.

This movie was absolutely perfect! I absolutely loved every moment of it. It was hilarious, perfectly casted, and just downright the best movie I've seen so far in the action-comedy genre.

I will say that there were a ton of 80's references which was not a bad thing. They really added to the movie. I don't remember too much of the comics but I have to say going just based on how the movie portrayed them, these characters are timeless. I adored them entirely.

The plot was definitely interesting and it kept me on the edge of my seat for most of the time. I honestly can't wait to see the movie again but I do have to confess... I'd like to see it again to be purely analytical.

SPOILER ALERT:

If you go further, you're spoiling parts of the Marvel© universe for yourself. I am literally making this text black to spare you the unneeded grief from being spoiled.

Why, you ask? Because every Marvel© movie has secrets about every other Marvel© movie. My first love is and will always be Captain America who, as y'all should know, is the enigmatic leader for the superhero group entitled the Avengers. Therefore, following at a close second on my favorites, is the Avengers. As Avengers 2: Age of Ultron is coming out soon(ish), I am prepared to go to answer many questions that I have gathered:

What exactly is going to happen?

Will Ultron win?

How does Thanos play a part in all this?

The Infinity Gauntlet is going to show up, right?

Speaking of, exactly how many stones are left? (Cause weren't there some stones visible when we saw it last?)

Now that one stone has been uncovered, who's going to uncover the other stones?

Peter Parker has kinda been in his own world and there hasn't been much crossover... will that ever change?

How will the two new Avengers fit in with the stellar team dynamic?

What on God's green earth happened to the Tesseract if the Collector's collection was pretty much decimated in Guardians?

Is there ever going to be a crossover where all of the Marvel© universes finally come together to save the day somehow? (I'm not even picky; I don't care what's going on)

And finally, the most important question for any Marvel© fan...

Where is Deadpool and why hasn't he been given a bigger part than Ryan Reynolds/Scott Adkins in X-Men Origins: Wolverine?

I think about these questions a lot. I would appreciate them being answered, Marvel©. I don't think it's too much to ask for at all. I understand it'll take some time but hints here and there, those I live for.

Which brings us back to why I want to see the movie again. Y'all don't understand; I take these movies pretty seriously after I've seen them for a few times... It's after I've felt I've analyzed them well that I watch them for fun.

(Oh wait, jks, cause I'll watch Cap anytime. Just for grins.)

I have to say, that is one of the reasons I really do like the Marvel© universe. Everything is connected and so you never know what could happen. I also appreciate that Marvel Studios© is now making the movies that are pretty much comics come-to-life. I love that.

These comics are amazing and I could never ever get tired of reading them so seeing them brought to the big screens and just basically seeing my heroes come alive... It's an experience like no other and I'm so thankful that I'm alive in this time period.

Crazy obsession aside, the movie is truly one-of-a-kind and deserves a huge audience to fall in love with it.

Update on exercise and stuff: I finished Day 1 of the Beginner's Calendar today. It wasn't too hard but I was a little sore. I'll keep up with the calendar as best I can.

Laterz,
Trina

A Bummy, No Hard Work Day

Hey y'all!

So today, I was pretty bummy (and I mean that as in, hobo-like, not that it was bad). I'm finally home from my grandma's so these posts can ACUTALLY be like how they're supposed to, haha. Anyways, I woke up kinda late, packed, ate food and then went to go see Guardians of the Galaxy. I would blurb about the movie here but that's what Movie Monday is for, right? :)

After the movie, we headed home and then I watched Wipe-Out: The Bachelor and Bachelorette version. OMG, I love this show. Putting all of my peeps from past Bachelors and Bachelorettes made it all the better :D Which speaking of, Bachelor in Paradise will deeefinitely be featured in T.V. Tuesday. Along with all of my Gravity Falls conspiracy theories!! That show is addicting

Third on the agenda today was that I was supposed to start my beginner's calendar... It didn't happen. I am now typing this out really, really late and so I'm just having today as my rest day for Saturday. I probably shouldn't, but I'll follow the calendar properly after today, I promise. I know, I know, I keep saying that I'll do this but I really will this time. I'm super determined. I have events that will require pictures and probably strapless dresses so I really gotta get going on this workout thing.

I'm pretty sure that that is all that needs to be talked about today... Oh! I came up with a new idea for a book. Ah, I suppose I should mention that I'm an amateur author. If I ever do get published, I promise y'all will be the first to know, but right now, ideas just keep hitting me left and right and I can't do much about them, unfortunately. Except flesh those suckers out.

Okie-dokes, well, I'm knackered and raring to go to bed. So good night, lovelies!!

Laterz,

Trina

August 2nd

Hey y'all! Okay, I'm doing good so far. Two days in a row hardly counts as an accomplishment, I know. To me, I feel if I've crossed an Olympic hurdle though. This'll seem pretty darn pathetic though once I've got months under my belt. I look forward to that time tremendously. Today was absolutely cray. Like, cray-cray. And I do not use that term lightly. My cousin's bridal shower was today and it was a smashing success, if I do say so myself. The food turned out wonderfully, the games were invigorating, and the gifts were pehnomenal and well appreciated. It was wonderful to seem family and a bunch of people I don't see on a regular basis so there's that. The before-and-after though... Oh man, it was a whirlwind. I didn't realize how much rearranging a restaurant needs in order to be ready for a bridal shower. It was a ton of work but to know my cousin was thrilled was definitely worth it. Little note about me, I do tend to exaggerate so no, it wasn't back-breaking work, but it was time-consuming. Especially cause we were racing against the clock. After the shower was over, we spent about an hour and a half cleaning up everything and putting my grandma's restaurant back to order. It took a while but with 8 of us, we got it done pretty quickly. I helped my aunt a little and then headed back to my grandma's which is where my family stays when we're in town. My sister was complaining of her feet hurting and pretty much all of us felt the same. We are all exhausted. That's why even though it's pretty early, I'm just writing this post out now because otherwise, I won't get it out soon. Maybe at all for today. Hence, why I'm here now. Okay, so that's it for the personal stuff... Oh dear. I'm so tired I forgot that today is Saturday and that I've really never designated Saturday or Sunday for anything... Well, I'll add more to this post later when I think what Saturday is going to be for. I will say this though, I am so upset. You have no idea. See, while I sit here now, a wonderful concert and I mean friggin' bloody amazing concert has just taken place. And I've missed it. I only planned for it for months in advance, seriously. Today, a bit north from my beloved Houston in a place called The Woodlands, a concert took place at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavillion. That concert was part of Monumentour. Yes, that's right. The concert that both Fall Out Boy and Paramore were headlining along with The Pretty Reckless opening for them. What kind of world am I living in that I was not able to see this show with three of my favorite bands? A pretty effing unfair one, if you ask me. Now, I did have familial obligations, I get that, but ohmygod, it's called Monumentour for a freakin' reason. That's all. I'm just going to wallow and revel in my Fall Out Boy, Paramore and The Pretty Reckless playlist that I've created on Spotify just for this occasion. It will hopefully pacify myself. I highly doubt it though. I will never get over missing this concert. Oh, I'll be seeing all three in concert. No doubt about that. But I'll never get to see all three of them in the same concert again. Lemme mention the real kicker of missing them for me though. See, now many of you will probably say, oh, there are other locations, right? You would be wrong. Can I pay $25 for that particular location? No, no, I cannot. And that's really why I'm upset at missing three of my favorite bands. When on God's green earth can I pay $25 to see all three amazing bands again? Never. Anyways, moving on from my imminent demise from lack of live music exposure (which is another reason I'm moving to Austin. I'll be thoroughly fulfilled there with my live music need) diet and exercise-wise, I haven't started anything. There was no way that was happening today with the shower food. I'm not sure if I mentioned it in my last post, but I'm going to officially start tomorrow, on the 3rd. I'll include what I've done then including links cause I'll be home. Laterz, Trina

The Beginning of Blogust/Feature Friday

Hey y’all! I am so sorry that I have been so MIA lately but life has just been pretty hectic. That is definitely going to change though. I have big plans for my future and so I definitely am going to start blogging way more often to document everything. I have this big thing about having everything documented in my life cause I have the worst short-term memory ever. So since a bunch of people on YouTube are participating in “Vlogust,” I thought it was a perfect time for me to get back into the blogosphere (I know I just made up a word but I hope that everyone thinks it fits… cause I do :P). Anyways, here goes to blogging about everything in August. I know that I have previously stated that I have set topics for each day but honestly, I fly by the seat of my pants in practically everything, so I’m preeeetty sure I’m never going to follow that schedule. I will try extremely hard to the best of my ability but probs not, guys. Probs not. As of right now, I’m at my grandma’s because my eldest cousin is going to have a bridal shower on Saturday (tomorrow) that my mom is helping host. Exciting, right? I actually am thrilled for my cousin and can’t wait for this thing to get going. It definitely was fun helping with everything, I’m not gonna lie. It also got me started thinking about my own wedding. Actually, to be completely honest, I’ve been thinking about my wedding for a while. No, not because I have someone in mind (although, we ALL have that celeb person inmind, am I right?) but because I know that if I don’t get stuff done now, while I think about it and really give it the thought it deserves, I will be thrown so far back in the planning of my own wedding, it’s not funny. I love my family. I really do. But I would like some things done the way I want and it’s just better to have that battleplan set. I am definitely flexible for whatever my future spouse will want but there are some things I will put down my foot for. What about y’all? Any planners like me or will you just let other people plan it for you? Or a third option? I’m open to all comments :) Moving on, that’s about it for my personal life at the mo. School-wise, I’m still working on that. As I (hope I’ve) mentioned before in a previous post, I am a student right now at a community college. I’ll do a post later on that about pros and cons of universities vs. community/junior colleges, but what I just want to say now is that this upcoming fall semester will definitely be my last. I am going to transfer before the spring and instead of being in my beloved H-town, I’ll be hitting it up in Austin. I am so excited about that, you have no idea. I LOVE Austin. As in, I adore it utterly. I think it’s awesome, eclectic, the right amount of people striving for fitness (to work as inspiration for yours truly) and it’s just completely perfect for me. Being the live music capital of the world definitely does not hurt it. What school I’ll go to exactly, I’m not sure. I am hoping to rush, which for those of you unfamiliar with the term, that means to try and join a Greek fraternity or sorority. There are fraternities that are for girls but I will most likely be going for a sorority. I have wanted to rush for the longest of times, y’all have no idea. I’ve known about this dream since I was a freshman in high school and that was almost 6 years ago. Yeesh, now I sound old, haha. So, I’m currently working two jobs to save up for Austin and for everything involved with that. I will be taking a few final classes here in Houston while working and then hopefully, I will have all of my stuff together to be able to transfer. I’m hoping for all A’s this semester class-wise and that will just boost my GPA even more to where I will be a highly sought after transfer-applicant. Every little bit counts, am I right? I’ll tell ya this though, Austin is flipping expensive. Like, cheese and crackers, I will be practically starving trying to survive. But I know that it’ll definitely be worth it in the end. I’m seriously just thrilled. Typing this out right now, I’m tickled pink with the thought of this happening. School stuff done and out of the way. Next item, and I’m pretty sure the last one, on the agenda is my health journey. I have been really off of it, and I am definitely getting back on that horse again. I was supposed to start Cassey’s (which if you don’t know who I’m talking about, stop reading this and click on her name immediately. GO. Do it. Now. I mean it) Beginner’s Calendar with my cousin. …Weeeell, as I am at my grandma’s, have no workout clothes, no reason to buy my own groceries and many other things that many people will call excuses, I did not. I know, I know; I’m a disappointment to all. I really will start the calendar though! On Sunday. I’ll be back home, have my clothes and absolutely everything I need is there anyways. I thought about doing separate posts that are just about my experience with the calendar but then thought better of it. As my life currently consists of me just working, I figured that it’d be best to include something else so that way these posts will seem exciting. I swear, once I have a car and am in Austin, my life will become infinitely cooler (I can feel it). So, for the month of August, I’ll just be blurbing about my day at work and what I do on days off and then adding whatever workout I did. If you think I should include my diet and what I eat, lemme know in the comments below. As I’m still living at my parent’s and am pretty much under their roof, I really do try to eat as best I can, but sometimes it is just not feasible. So portion control is my new best friend in that regard, lemme tell ya. I guess after all of that being said, it’s just blog stuff left now. There’s not anything else I wanted to talk about, really. At least not that I can think of… Oh dear. If you’d like to know something else, just lemme know in the comments below. Hmm, since today is Friday, I suppose Feature/Fandom Friday is a good topic to go with to finish off this blogpost. So for this particular Feature Friday, I’d like to showcase a book. Lemme just say upfront, until I get more free time, which won’t happen until school starts ironically enough, most features are going to be about a book. Unless there’s a YouTuber that has just blown my mind or a T.V. show I can’t stop watching, my books are my things I just can’t live without at the moment. Having gotten a library card was pretty much the worst thing I could have ever done. That being said, here is my book choice for the week: H.I.V.E. Higher Institute of Villanous Education by Mark Walden This book captured me in ways I didn’t even think of. I have always been a sucker for a good gen (meaning just general, no set pairings or romances) that was chock-full of plot. H.I.V.E. definitely delieverd that for me. I was enraptured, pulled in and simply could not put the book down. I honestly cannot wait to get the second book from the library because I’m kinda burning with the need to know what happens next. Thankfully for Goodreads, I can see ahead and exactly how many books are in this series. Well, come to find out, he’s not done writing the books yet and that the ninth is due next year? Oh, I had kittens. Serious. Kittens. But really, this book is super fun and a joy to read. I’ll summarize it quickly so that way I don’t give any spoiler. Thirteen-year-old Otto Malpense is taken and put into a school that calls itself H.I.V.E. It stands for Higher Institute of Villanous Education and he has been brought here to further himself in what seems like a promising criminal career. Only problem is that he does not wish to stay on an island location learning about the art of evil. It seems that a martial-arts expert, a computer hacker and a diamond thief share this common thought. The four of them work together to get off the island and while doing so get the surprise of their lives. Is that okay? I don’t want to spoil it at all and so I’m leery to add too much more as I feel it’ll be a tad overkill. Okie-dokes, I feel that this blog post is now at an end, so I’m gonna say adios. I’m feeling quite knackered and I am really only staying up to help my mom prepare a lasagna. Laterz, Trina
“The chief beauty about time is that you cannot waste it in advance. The next year, the next day, the next hour are lying ready for you, as perfect, as unspoiled, as if you had never wasted or misapplied a single moment in all your life. You can turn over a new leaf every hour if you choose.”
-Arnold Bennett P.S. Being at my grandma’s right now, I’m not sure what’s going with this computer and internet cause it’s not letting me do any of my personalizations! Which is a total bummer. I’ll fix this post once I get home but it won’t be until Sunday, unfortunately.
